[PLUIGIN] Cloudflare WARP
Cloudflare WARP is a connectivity service built on top of Cloudflare’s global Anycast network. Designed to replace or supplement traditional consumer VPNs, it encrypts outbound device traffic while maintaining high performance and low latency.
Core Infrastructure Features
| Feature | Description |
| WireGuard & MASQUE Protocols | Replaces legacy OpenVPN/IPsec protocols with lightweight, UDP-based protocols to maximize speed and lower CPU overhead. |
| Anycast Routing | Automatically routes traffic to the nearest Cloudflare edge data center (spanning 300+ cities), keeping network latency minimal. |
| Encrypted DNS (DoH) | Wraps all DNS lookups inside DNS-over-HTTPS (1.1.1.1) to prevent local network observers from sniffing requests. |
| Argo Smart Routing (WARP+) | Available in the paid WARP+ tier to route traffic across optimized, congested-free Cloudflare private backbones. |
Key Operating Capabilities
-
End-to-Edge Traffic Encryption: Secures all unencrypted IP packets between the end-device and the Cloudflare network edge.
-
ISP Throttling & BGP Bypass: Prevents Internet Service Providers from inspecting, throttling, or sub-optimally routing specific types of traffic (e.g., streaming or peer-to-peer).
-
Flexible Tunnel Modes:
-
Traffic & DNS Mode: Full tunnel routing all IP traffic and DNS through Cloudflare.
-
DNS-Only Mode: Encrypts DNS requests using 1.1.1.1 without proxying standard device traffic.
-
Local Proxy Mode: Acts as a local HTTP/SOCKS5 proxy server on the host machine.
-
-
Zero Trust & Cloudflare Gateway Integration: When paired with a Cloudflare One / Teams account, admins can apply DNS filtering, HTTP inspection, and access policies.
Note on Privacy vs. Anonymity: Unlike traditional VPNs, Cloudflare WARP is designed for security and routing efficiency rather than location spoofing. It does not allow users to select specific exit countries or bypass regional geo-blocks.
