[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash IQON 300 HD

To flash the original IQON 300HD (the non-V2 version), the procedure is very similar to the V2, but the bootloader will only recognize the update if the folder name is exactly correct for this specific hardware.

1. Preparation

• USB Stick: A high-quality USB 2.0 stick (8GB or smaller) formatted to FAT32. Older Broadcom boxes are often incompatible with larger USB 3.0 drives.

• Firmware: Download the image specifically for the IQON 300HD (e.g., OpenATV, OpenPLi).

2. Folder Structure

The receiver looks for the iqon directory with a specific subfolder for the standard 300HD model.

1. Extract the downloaded firmware .zip file.

2. You will see a folder named iqon.

3. Copy the entire iqon folder to the root of your USB stick.

   • Path: USB:\iqon\300hd\

   • Contents: Inside the 300hd folder, you should see files like kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, and imageversion.

3. The Flashing Process

1. Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the power switch at the back.

2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the rear USB port.

3. Power On: Turn the back power switch to ON.

4. Initiate Flash:

   • Watch the front panel VFD display.

   • When it detects the USB, it will display a message like “USB” or “Found Image”.

   • Quickly press the Power/OK button on the front panel to confirm the flash.

5. Wait: The display will show “FLSH” or progress indicators. Do not interrupt the power.

6. Completion: The receiver will reboot automatically once finished.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
