HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Technomate TM-Nano SE M2

The Technomate TM-Nano SE M2 (the standard version without the “Plus” suffix) is a very common Broadcom-based Enigma2 receiver. It relies on a specific folder structure to initiate the flashing process during the boot sequence.

Preparation

  1. USB Drive: Use a FAT32 formatted USB stick. This model is known for being picky; a USB 2.0 drive (8GB or smaller) is highly recommended. Modern USB 3.0/3.1 sticks often cause the bootloader to skip the update.

  2. The Files: Extract your image zip file (e.g., OpenATV, OpenViX, or PurE2). You must see a folder named technomate and a subfolder inside it named nanosem2.

  3. Root Path: Copy the technomate folder to the root of your USB drive.

    • Structure: USB Root > technomate > nanosem2 > (files: kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, etc.)

Flashing Steps

  1. Power Down: Turn off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the rear USB port.

  3. Power On: Flip the rear power switch to ON.

  4. The Trigger: * Watch the front panel LED.

    • When the LED color changes or starts flashing (indicating a valid image is found), immediately press the Standby (Power) Button on the front panel of the receiver.

  5. Flashing Process: The LED will pulse or flash slowly while the update is in progress. This typically takes 3 to 5 minutes. Do not turn off the power during this time.

  6. Completion: Once finished, the receiver will reboot automatically.

  7. Finalize: Remove the USB stick as soon as you see the boot logo on your TV to prevent the box from detecting the flash files on the next restart.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Box ignores the USB: Double-check that the subfolder is named exactly nanosem2 (all one word, no spaces). If the folder is named incorrectly (e.g., nanose), the bootloader will ignore it.

  • LED doesn’t change: If the box boots straight to the old image, your USB stick may not be compatible. Try an older, slower USB 2.0 drive.

  • The “Force” Shortcut: If you have trouble with the front button timing, go into the nanosem2 folder on your PC, find the file named noforce, and rename it to force. The receiver will then flash automatically upon power-up without a button press.
