[NEWS] Canal Plus cleared to acquire M7 Group

Canal Plus Groupe announced it is set to complete the acquisition of M7, after receiving clearance from the EU competition authorities. The acquisition first announced in May will give the French pay-TV group operations in eight new countries in Europe and take its customer base to close to 20 million.

The takeover for EUR 1 billion is expected to close in the coming days. The assets include the Czech and Slovak satellite platform Skylink, HD Austria, the TV Vlaanderen/Telesat service in Belgium, and Canal Digitaal and Online.nl in the Netherlands.
