[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash MaXytec Multi 4K

To flash the original MaXytec Multi 4K (non-SE version), the process is nearly identical to the SE model, as they both share the HiSilicon chipset architecture. However, the bootloader requires a specific folder name to recognize the firmware files for the standard version.

1. Preparation

• USB Stick: A high-quality USB 2.0 or 3.0 stick (8GB to 32GB).

• Format: Must be formatted to FAT32.

• Firmware: Download the “recovery” or “USB” image specifically for the MaXytec Multi 4K.

2. Folder Structure

1. Extract the downloaded .zip file.

2. You will see a folder named maxytec.

3. Copy the entire maxytec folder to the root of your USB stick.

   • Path: USB:\maxytec\multi\

   • Contents: Inside the multi folder, you will see files like bootargs.bin, fastboot.bin, and the image.flash or rootfs.tar.bz2 files.

3. The Flashing Process

1. Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the power switch at the back.

2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the side USB 3.0 port (blue).

3. Initiate Flash:

   • Press and hold the Standby/Power button on the front panel.

   • While holding it, turn the back power switch to ON.

4. Recovery Menu:

   • Release the button once the Recovery Menu appears on your TV screen.

   • Use the remote to select “Flash Recovery Image” or “USB Multiboot Image Upgrade”.

5. Wait: The receiver will process the files and install the image to a multiboot slot.

6. Completion: The box will reboot automatically into the new Enigma2 environment.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
