HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash HITUBE 4K Combo

To flash the HiTube 4K Combo, you will use the HiSilicon recovery procedure. This is the base combo model (DVB-S2X + T2/C), and while it looks like the “Plus” or “Pro” versions, it requires its own specific folder name for the bootloader to trigger the flash.

1. Preparation

  • USB Stick: Use a high-quality USB 2.0 or 3.0 stick. Format it to FAT32.

  • Firmware: Download the “Recovery” or “MMC” image specifically for the HiTube 4K Combo.

2. Folder Structure

The bootloader identifies the update via the hitube directory on the root of the drive.

  1. Extract the firmware .zip file on your computer.

  2. Ensure you have a folder named hitube.

  3. Inside that folder, there should be a subfolder named 4kcombo.

  4. Copy the hitube folder to the root of your USB stick.

    • Path: USB:\hitube\4kcombo\

    • Contents: You should see files like appcfg.bin, bootargs.bin, fastboot.bin, and image.flash.

3. The Flashing Process

  1. Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the side USB 3.0 port (blue).

  3. Initiate Flash:

    • Press and hold the Standby/Power button on the front panel.

    • While holding the button, turn the back power switch to ON.

  4. Recovery Menu:

    • Continue holding the button until the Recovery Menu appears on your TV.

    • Use the remote to select “Flash Recovery Image” (for a fresh start) or “USB Multiboot Image Upgrade”.

  5. Wait: The progress bar will indicate the status. Do not interrupt the power.

  6. Completion: The receiver will reboot automatically once finished.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
