HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Atemio AM 6100

The Atemio AM 6100 (also known as the Atemio 6100 HD) is the single-tuner sibling of the 6200. It is a Broadcom-based receiver that uses a very specific folder-based trigger for flashing.

Step 1: USB Preparation

  • Format: The USB drive must be formatted to FAT32. (A high-quality 4GB or 8GB USB 2.0 stick is the most reliable).

  • Folder Structure: When you unzip the image (e.g., OpenATV or OpenPLi), you will see a folder named atemio.

  • Target Path: Inside the atemio folder, there must be a subfolder named 6100.

    • Path check: USB_DRIVE:\atemio\6100\

    • Crucial Files: Ensure it contains kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, and imageversion.

Step 2: The Flashing Procedure

  1. Full Power Off: Switch off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the drive into the rear USB port.

  3. Boot & Trigger:

    • Switch the rear power toggle to ON.

    • Watch the front panel display. When it displays “Found Image” or “Press OK,” quickly press the Power button on the front panel.

  4. Wait for Progress: The display will show “Flashing” or “Updating.” This process usually takes about 3 minutes. Do not interrupt the power.

  5. Reboot: Once the display says “Completed” or “Success,” the box will reboot. Remove the USB drive immediately to prevent it from entering the flash cycle again.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
