[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash EVO X Combo

The EVO X Combo (often referred to as the Optibox EVO X Combo or simply the EVO X) is a dual-tuner Enigma2 receiver. Like the other EVO models you’ve documented for enigma2.net, the flashing process depends on a specific folder name to trigger the update from your USB drive.
1. Prepare the USB Drive
-
Format: Use a USB 2.0 stick (max 8GB is ideal) and format it to FAT32.
-
Download: Get the Enigma2 image (e.g., OpenATV) specifically for the
evoxcombo. -
The Folder Path: Extract the ZIP file. The root directory of your USB must be:
-
USB_ROOT/evo/xcombo/
-
-
Verify Files: Ensure the
xcombofolder containskernel.bin,rootfs.bin, andimageversion.
2. The Flashing Procedure
-
Power Off: Shut down the receiver using the power switch on the back.
-
Insert USB: Plug the stick into the rear USB port.
-
The Boot Trigger:
-
Turn the power switch back to ON.
-
Immediately watch the front panel display. When “USB” or “CONF” appears, quickly press the POWER button on the front panel of the receiver.
-
-
Wait for Progress: The display will show “FLSH” or a progress bar. This usually takes 3–5 minutes. Do not interrupt the power.
-
Finish: The receiver will reboot automatically. You can remove the USB once the setup wizard appears on your TV.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
