HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash IQON 100 HD

To flash the IQON 100HD, you will follow the standard procedure for the IQON Broadcom series. As the entry-level model in the IQON family, it is particularly sensitive to USB stick selection and requires the exact folder naming convention.

1. Preparation

  • USB Stick: Use an older USB 2.0 stick if possible. A capacity of 2GB to 8GB formatted to FAT32 is ideal for this older bootloader.

  • Firmware: Download the image specifically for the IQON 100HD (OpenATV and OpenPLi are the most common).

2. Folder Structure

The bootloader identifies the update files within a specific subfolder.

  1. Extract the downloaded firmware .zip file on your computer.

  2. You should see a folder named iqon.

  3. Copy the entire iqon folder to the root directory of your USB stick.

    • Path: USB:\iqon\100hd\

    • Contents: Inside the 100hd folder, you should see kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, and imageversion.

3. The Flashing Process

  1. Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the rear USB port.

  3. Power On: Turn the back power switch to ON.

  4. Initiate Flash:

    • Watch the front panel display.

    • When it detects the USB, it will display a message like “USB” or “Found Image”.

    • Immediately press the Power button on the front panel to confirm.

  5. Wait: The display will show the progress (e.g., “FLSH”). Do not turn off the power during this process.

  6. Completion: The receiver will reboot automatically once the flash is 100% complete.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
