HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash EVO NOVA TWIN

The EVO Nova Twin (also known as the Optibox EVO Nova Twin) is a popular Enigma2 receiver because of its dual-tuner capabilities. Flashing it follows the standard Enigma2 “Power-on-Trigger” method, but like the Slim models, the folder naming is the most vital part.

Flashing the EVO Nova Twin (Step-by-Step)

1. Prepare the USB Drive

  • Format: Use a USB stick (2.0 is preferred, max 8GB) formatted to FAT32.

  • Download Image: Get the image for the evonovatwin (OpenATV is a common choice).

  • Folder Structure: Extract the ZIP file. You must have a folder named evo in the root of the USB. Inside that, there should be a subfolder named novatwin.

    • Path: USB_ROOT/evo/novatwin/

  • Verify Files: Inside the novatwin folder, you should see kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, and imageversion.

2. The Flashing Procedure

  1. Power Off: Turn the receiver off using the power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the stick into the rear USB port.

  3. Trigger the Flash:

    • Turn the power switch back to ON.

    • Watch the front panel display. When you see “USB” or “CONF” appear, immediately press the POWER button on the front panel of the receiver.

  4. Wait for Progress: The display will show “FLSH” or a percentage. This takes roughly 3-5 minutes. Do not power off during this time.

  5. Reboot: The receiver will reboot automatically once finished. You can remove the USB when the setup wizard appears on your TV.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
