HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash AX 4K

Since “AX 4K” covers several different hardware generations (Broadcom vs. Hisilicon chipsets), the flashing method depends on which specific model you have.

Below are the instructions for the most common AX 4K models. Choose the one that matches your device.

Option A: AX 4K HD51 (Broadcom)

The HD51 is a classic “button-trigger” flash.

  1. USB Prep: Format a USB stick to FAT32. Unzip the image; you should have a folder named hd51 in the root of the drive.

  2. Flash:

    • Power off the box at the rear switch.

    • Insert the USB into the front port.

    • Press and hold the Power button on the front panel.

    • Turn on the rear power switch while still holding the front button.

    • Release when the display shows “Flashing”.

Option B: AX 4K HD60 (Hisilicon)

The HD60 often requires a “Reset” trigger rather than a front button.

  1. USB Prep: Format to FAT32. Unzip the image; you must have a folder path \ax\hd60\ containing all 6 recovery files (appcfg.bin, fastboot.bin, etc.).

  2. Flash:

    • Power off at the back.

    • Insert the USB into the side port.

    • Use a paperclip to hold the Reset button (small hole on the side/back).

    • Turn on the power; release the Reset button when the screen shows “UPDT” or the progress bar.

Option C: AX 4K HD61 / Multibox SE (Hisilicon Recovery)

These newer models use a Recovery Menu (Maintenance Mode).

  1. USB Prep: Copy the image .zip file (do not unzip) to the root of a FAT32 USB stick.

  2. Flash:

    • Power off at the back.

    • Insert USB.

    • Press and hold the Power button on the front panel (or remote for some versions).

    • Turn on the power; keep holding until the “Maintenance Mode” or “Bootmenu” appears on your TV.

    • Select “Flash local image” and choose your .zip file.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
