The AXAS HIS TWIN+ is a dual-tuner HiSilicon-based receiver. While it shares the same internal DNA as the Combo series, the bootloader is programmed to look for a specific folder name to differentiate the “Twin” hardware from the “Combo” hardware.

Step 1: USB Preparation

• Format: The USB stick must be FAT32. (HiSilicon chipsets are famously picky—use a 2GB to 8GB USB 2.0 drive if possible).

• Folder Structure: Unzip your image (e.g., OpenATV 7.x). You will see an axas folder.

• Target Path: Inside the axas folder, the subfolder must be named histwin.

  • Path check: USB_DRIVE:\axas\histwin\

  • Crucial Files: Ensure it contains appcfg.bin, boot.img, fastboot.bin, kernel.bin, recovery.img, and rootfs.tar.bz2.

Step 2: The Flashing Procedure

1. Power Down: Turn off the AXAS HIS TWIN+ using the physical power switch at the back.

2. Insert USB: Plug the USB drive into the side USB port (this is usually the most reliable for bootloader access).

3. Boot & Trigger:

   • Switch the rear power toggle to ON.

   • Immediately press and hold the Power Button on the front panel.

   • Watch the front display. When it shows “UPDT” or “FLSH,” release the button.

4. Wait for Progress: The box will begin flashing. This takes about 3–5 minutes. You will see progress on the front display or your TV screen.

5. Reboot: Once the process finishes, the receiver will reboot automatically. Remove the USB drive during the reboot to avoid a loop.
