[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Edision Optimuss OS2 Plus
Flashing the Edision Optimuss OS2 Plus (Step-by-Step)
1. Prepare the USB Drive
-
Format: Use a USB 2.0 stick (FAT32). This MIPS bootloader is sensitive; a 4GB or 8GB stick is the most reliable.
-
The Folder Path: Extract your Enigma2 image (OpenATV, OpenViX, etc.). The root of your USB drive must contain this folder:
-
USB_ROOT/os2plus/
-
-
Verify Files: Inside the
os2plusfolder, you should see:-
kernel.bin -
rootfs.bin -
imageversion
-
-
The “Force” Hack: Edision images often include a
noforcefile. Rename it toforceif you want the flash to start automatically upon power-up.
2. The Flashing Procedure
-
Power Off: Turn off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.
-
Insert USB: Plug the stick into the front USB port (located behind the front flap) for the most direct bootloader access.
-
The Trigger:
-
Turn the power switch to ON.
-
If using
force: The front VFD display will immediately indicate the flash has started. -
If using
noforce: Watch the TV screen or the front VFD. When prompted with “CONF” or “USB”, press and hold the OK button on the Remote Control.
-
-
Wait: The process takes about 3–5 minutes. The VFD display will show the progress. Do not interrupt the power.
-
Finish: The receiver will reboot automatically. You can remove the USB stick once the setup wizard appears.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
