HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Qviart Lunix CO

To flash the Qviart Lunix CO (the compact, cost-effective sibling of the Lunix3), you need to follow the specific folder hierarchy for its Broadcom chipset. While smaller, it follows the standard Enigma2 “Power Button” confirmation process.

Preparation

  1. USB Drive: Use a USB 2.0 stick (8GB or less is most reliable) formatted to FAT32.

  2. Download Image: Ensure you have the firmware (OpenATV, OpenPLi, etc.) specifically for the Lunix CO.

  3. Extract Files: Unzip the folder. You should see a folder named qviart.

  4. Copy to USB: Transfer the entire qviart folder to the root of the USB stick.

    • Structure: USB Stick -> qviart -> lunixco -> (image files: kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, etc.).

The Flashing Process

  1. Power Down: Turn off the receiver using the power switch at the rear (or unplug the power adapter).

  2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the rear USB port (the Lunix CO often only has rear ports).

  3. Power On: Flip the rear power switch to ON (or plug it in).

  4. Initiate Flash: * Watch the front panel LED.

    • When the LED changes color or you see “Update?” on the TV screen (if connected), immediately press the Power button on the front panel.

  5. Wait: The LED will typically blink during the process. Do not turn off the power until the receiver reboots itself.

  6. Complete: Once the setup wizard appears on your TV screen, you can safely remove the USB stick.

Quick Tips for Lunix CO

  • Folder Name Check: Ensure the subfolder is exactly lunixco (all lowercase, no spaces). This is the most common reason for a failed flash.

  • Force Method: If you cannot get the button press to trigger the update, find the file noforce inside the lunixco folder on your USB and rename it to force. The box will then flash automatically upon power-up.

  • USB Compatibility: If the box ignores the USB, try a different, older USB 2.0 drive.
