HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash AXAS HIS C 4K

The AXAS HIS C 4K is the cable-specific (DVB-C) version of the HiSilicon series. The flashing process is consistent with the other HiSilicon models, but you must ensure the folder naming on your USB matches the hardware ID for this specific “C” model.

Step 1: USB Preparation

  • Format: The USB drive must be formatted to FAT32. (A smaller USB 2.0 drive is often more reliable for HiSilicon boxes).

  • Folder Structure: Unzip your chosen image (e.g., OpenATV). You should see an axas folder.

  • Target Path: Inside the axas folder, the subfolder must be named hisc.

    • Path check: USB_DRIVE:\axas\hisc\

    • Files: Ensure it contains appcfg.bin, boot.img, fastboot.bin, kernel.bin, recovery.img, and rootfs.tar.bz2.

Step 2: The Flashing Procedure

  1. Full Power Off: Flip the physical power switch at the back of the AXAS to OFF.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the drive into the side USB port (this port usually has the most direct communication with the bootloader).

  3. Boot & Trigger:

    • Switch the rear power toggle to ON.

    • Immediately press and hold the Power Button on the front panel.

    • When the front display shows “UPDT” or “FLSH,” release the button.

  4. Flashing: The box will start the update. You’ll see progress on the front panel and a status bar on your TV via HDMI.

  5. Finish: After 3–5 minutes, the box will automatically reboot. Remove the USB drive during the reboot to prevent the process from starting again.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
