[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash AXAS CLASS M

The AXAS Class M is a classic Enigma2 receiver that, while older, still follows the standard flashing logic for Broadcom-based boxes. Because this is a legacy device, it is very picky about USB drives—using a small USB 2.0 stick (4GB or 8GB) formatted to FAT32 is the best way to ensure the bootloader sees the files.
Step 1: USB Preparation
-
Format: Ensure the USB drive is strictly FAT32.
-
Folder Structure: Unzip your image (e.g., OpenATV). You should see a folder named
axas. -
Target Path: Inside the
axasfolder, the subfolder must be namedclassm.-
Path check:
USB_DRIVE:\axas\classm\ -
Files: This folder should contain
kernel.bin,rootfs.bin, andimageversion.
-
Step 2: The Flashing Procedure
-
Full Power Off: Flip the physical power switch at the back of the AXAS Class M to OFF.
-
Insert USB: Plug the drive into the rear USB port. (On the Class M, the rear port is generally more reliable for initial boot flashing than the front).
-
Boot & Trigger:
-
Switch the rear power toggle to ON.
-
Watch the front panel LED/Display. When it detects the USB, it will usually display a message like “Update” or the LED will change color.
-
If prompted, quickly press the OK/Power button on the front panel to confirm.
-
-
Wait for Progress: The flashing process can take 5–10 minutes. Do not interrupt the power.
-
Finish: Once the box reboots or the display says “Completed,” remove the USB drive immediately to prevent it from flashing again.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
