[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash AX-Quadbox HD 2400

The AX-Quadbox HD 2400 is a powerhouse Broadcom-based receiver. It was one of the first to feature four plug-and-play tuner slots, making it a favorite for power users. Like other AX/Mut@nt hardware, it uses a specific folder structure to initiate the flash.
Step 1: USB Preparation
-
Format: The USB drive must be formatted to FAT32. (A high-quality 4GB or 8GB USB 2.0 stick is the most reliable).
-
Folder Structure: When you unzip your image (e.g., OpenATV), you will see a folder named
hd2400. -
Target Path: On this model, the folder is usually in the root of the USB.
-
Path check:
USB_DRIVE:\hd2400\ -
Crucial Files: Ensure it contains
kernel.bin,rootfs.bin, andimageversion.
-
Step 2: The Flashing Procedure
-
Full Power Off: Switch off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.
-
Insert USB: Plug the drive into the front USB port (located behind the front panel flap).
-
Boot & Trigger:
-
Switch the rear power toggle to ON.
-
Watch the front panel OLED display. When it shows “Flash?” or “Update?”, quickly press the Power button (or OK button) on the front panel.
-
-
Wait for Progress: The display will show “Flashing” or “Updating.” This process usually takes 3–5 minutes. Do not interrupt the power.
-
Reboot: Once the display says “Completed” or “Ready,” the box will automatically reboot. Remove the USB drive during the reboot to avoid a loop.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
