HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Atemio AM 5200

The Atemio AM 5200 HD is a Mipsel-based receiver that belongs to the same family as the 6000 series. For your enigma2.net guides, it’s important to note that while the hardware is slightly older, the flashing logic remains identical to the AM 6000: it relies on a specific numeric folder on the USB to trigger the bootloader.

Step 1: USB Preparation

  • Format: The USB stick must be formatted to FAT32. Use a small USB 2.0 drive (4GB or 8GB is ideal) for the highest success rate.

  • Folder Structure: When you extract the Enigma2 image (OpenATV, OpenHDF, etc.), you will get a folder named atemio.

  • Target Path: Inside the atemio folder, the subfolder must be named 5200.

    • Path check: USB_DRIVE:\atemio\5200\

    • Files: Ensure you see kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, and imageversion inside the 5200 folder.

Step 2: The Flashing Procedure

  1. Full Power Off: Flip the physical power switch at the back of the receiver to OFF.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the drive into the rear USB port for the most stable connection.

  3. Boot & Trigger:

    • Switch the rear power toggle to ON.

    • Watch the front panel display closely.

    • As soon as the display reads “Found Image” or “Press OK,” quickly press the Power/OK button on the front panel.

  4. Wait for Progress: The display will show “Flashing” or “Updating.” This process usually takes 3–5 minutes. Do not interrupt the power.

  5. Reboot: When the display shows “Completed” or “Success,” the box will reboot automatically. Remove the USB drive during the first logo to prevent a loop.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
