HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Edision OS mio4k

Flashing the Edision OS mio 4K (Step-by-Step)

1. Prepare the USB Drive

  • Format: Use a USB 2.0 stick (FAT32). For 4K bootloaders, using a high-quality stick 8GB or smaller is the gold standard to avoid “skipping” the flash.

  • The Folder Path: Extract your Enigma2 image (OpenATV, OpenViX, etc.). The root of your USB must be:

    • USB_ROOT/osmio4k/

  • Verify Files: Inside the osmio4k folder, you must see:

    • kernel.bin

    • rootfs.bin

    • imageversion

2. The Flashing Procedure

  1. Power Down: Turn off the receiver using the rear power switch.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the stick into either the rear or side USB port.

  3. The Trigger:

    • Turn the power switch back to ON.

    • Watch the TV screen: A prompt will appear saying “Press OK to flash.”

    • Immediately press and hold the OK button on your Remote Control (not the front panel).

  4. Wait: The screen will show a progress bar. The process usually takes 2–4 minutes.

  5. Finish: The receiver will reboot automatically. You can remove the USB once the setup wizard (language selection) appears.

The flashing process should take approximately two to four minutes to complete, while the receiver
is being flashed it is vitally important that you DO NOT power the receiver down for any reason as
this can cause serious and or permanent damage.
