HOW TO FLASH

[HOW TO FLASH] how to flash Technomate TM-Nano SE COMBO

The Technomate TM-Nano SE COMBO is a versatile Broadcom-based receiver that combines satellite (DVB-S2) and terrestrial/cable (DVB-T2/C) tuners. To flash it, you must ensure you are using the correct image specifically built for the COMBO version, as the standard SE images may not include the necessary tuner drivers.

Preparation

  1. USB Drive: Use a FAT32 formatted USB stick. This model is sensitive to USB hardware; an older USB 2.0 (8GB or smaller) drive is strongly recommended.

  2. The Files: Extract your image zip file (e.g., OpenATV, OpenViX). You must see a folder named technomate and a subfolder inside it named nanosecombo.

  3. Root Path: Copy the technomate folder to the root of your USB drive.

    • Structure: USB Root > technomate > nanosecombo > (files: kernel.bin, rootfs.bin, etc.)

Flashing Steps

  1. Power Down: Turn off the receiver using the physical power switch at the back.

  2. Insert USB: Plug the USB stick into the rear USB port.

  3. Power On: Flip the rear power switch to ON.

  4. The Trigger: * Watch the front panel LED.

    • When the LED color changes or starts flashing (indicating a valid image is found), immediately press the Standby (Power) Button on the front panel of the receiver.

  5. Flashing Process: The LED will pulse or flash slowly while the update is in progress. This typically takes 3 to 5 minutes. Do not turn off the power during this time.

  6. Completion: Once finished, the receiver will reboot automatically.

  7. Finalize: Remove the USB stick as soon as the boot logo appears on your TV to prevent the box from entering the update cycle again on the next restart.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Box ignores the USB: Double-check that the subfolder is named exactly nanosecombo. If the folder is named incorrectly (like just nanose), the bootloader will ignore it.

  • LED doesn’t change: If the box boots straight to the old image, your USB stick may not be compatible. Try a different, older USB 2.0 drive.

  • The “Force” Shortcut: If the front button is hard to time, go into the nanosecombo folder on your PC, find the file named noforce, and rename it to force. The receiver will then flash automatically upon power-up without needing a button press.
